INTRA-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES (2023-2024)

Intra-school activities refer to events, competitions, or initiatives that take place within a single school, involving the participation of its own students. These activities are designed to enhance the overall educational experience, foster a sense of community, and provide students with opportunities for personal and skill development

Canteen Day

This year we introduced with a new idea  called as Canteen Day in the school. On this day students prepare food items at home and sells them to the other students of the school during break by putting stalls.

The main idea of starting this activity is to bring a knowledge of marketing among the students and it also benefit them in learning mathematics. 

Each month one class was given charge

World Music Day

World Music Day is celebrated every year on June 21 to celebrate and promote the global language of music, and to bring together people of different nationalities, cultures, and races through music. 

It was also celebrated in our school on 21st June 2023 in a befitting manner. Our students sung songs and played different musical instruments to mark this day.

Medical Camp

A medical camp in a school is an event where healthcare professionals provide health check-ups, screenings, and basic medical services to students, staff, etc. These camps are organized to promote health awareness, identify health issues early, and facilitate preventive healthcare.

 

This year we had organized the camp in association with Community Health Centre Canacona on 5th July 2023. In this camp the doctors examined the students of Nurser, K.G., Primary and High School. Std. V and X were given T.T. Injections.

Field Trip

Field trips for school students are educational outings that take students beyond the classroom to explore real-world environments, enhance learning, and provide hands-on experiences.

Keeping the above thought in mind, on 1st August 2023 at 8:00 a.m. St  Sebastian's High school staff and students Marched towards the chimta band at Madditollop , Canacona .

In this Field trip the students were exposed to natural Streams, Natural Forest areas. They played, danced, swim and sung songs along with the teachers and enjoyed the day keeping aside the regular curriculum.

Panch Pran Pledge

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had called upon all the countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort to take ‘Panch Pran’ – the goal of a developed India, to remove the mentality of slavery, to be proud of our traditions, to dedicate whole life for unity and integrity, and, to awaken a sense of duty in the mind of every citizen.

Our Students also took this pledge on 10th August 2023 along with the school staff.

Patriotic Singing Competition

A patriotic singing competition is an event where participants showcase their vocal talents by singing songs that evoke a sense of patriotism and national pride.

On 14th August we had arranged a Class-wise National integration group singing competition in two categories Std. V to VII and St. VIII to X.

The winners were awarded with prizes and were given chance to show case their talent on 15th August 2023.

Road safety week

Road Safety Week is an annual event that aims to raise awareness about road safety and promote measures to reduce road accidents and injuries. The week-long campaign typically involves various activities, events, and initiatives organized by government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), schools, businesses, and community groups.

We observed this day on 10th October 2023 by organizing various activities such as demonstrations, skit on traffic rules by teachers, etc.

Cabinet Inauguration

A school cabinet, often referred to as a student cabinet or student council, is a representative body of students elected by their peers to address various issues within the school and act as a liaison between the student body and the school administration.

This year we Conducted the election in the school for the Post of various ministeries of the school. Students Enthusiastically participated in the election and voted the candidates of their choice. 

After the election the committee of members were given oath in the specially arranged Cabinet Inauguration function. On this day they took the pledge.

International Millets Day

International Millet Day is observed on 19th December every year to celebrate the significance of millet in our lives. Millets are one of the oldest cultivated grains in the world, and India is the largest producer of millets.

On this day a special assembly for the students is arranged. Students brought home made food made from millets and they displayed it in the school.

we had also arranged traditional food for the full school staff.

Ozone Day

Ozone Day, also known as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, is observed annually on September 16th. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the ozone layer in protecting life on Earth. We celebrated this day during the morning assembly in a befitting manner.
