National Festivals

Independence Day

Independence Day was Celebrated on 15th August 2024 on the school ground. Chief Guest of this function was Shri Surendra B. Dessai, Ex-Physical Education teacher of our school who hoisted National Flag. The day was celebrated with variety of programmes like patriotic Group songs, Immitation of National leaders by pre-primary students, Skit by primary Students and speeches by the students. 

Teacher's Day

Teachers' day was celebrated on 5th September 2024 to mark the birthday of our former President Shri  Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Programme started with a  prayer service, followed by short cultural programme. Students had shown their love and affection through their poems, songs ,dialogue, dance and specially prepared Greeting Cards

Children's Day

Children's day was celebrated on 30th November 2023 to celebrate the birthday of our Former Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. A special Picnic was arranged to Froggy land water park at Nuvem. 
Teachers arranged a small programme on this occassion such as Group Dance, Songs, etc.

Gandhi Jayanti

To Celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and Birth Anniversary of our former Prime Minister  Lal Bahadur Shastri, on 2nd October 2023, student presented a small assembly with a short prayer service followed by a short programme. After that Teachers and students had done "Shram Dhan".

Meri Mati Mera Desh

"Meri Maati Mera Desh" envisions a unified celebration of India's soil and valour, commemorating the nation's journey of freedom and progress. By connecting with the land and honoring our heroes, this program will instill a sense of national pride and inspire future generations to protect India's cherished heritage.

Our School Participated in this event actively by celebrating various activities throughout the period.

Goa Liberation Day

Goa Liberation Day was celebrated in the school on 19th December 2024. Indian flag was hosted on that day by our headmistress Sr. Jenifer Fernandes followed by a small programme by the students and teachers of our school.

International Literacy day

The International literacy week was observed between 1st September to 8th September 2024 in order to highlight  the importance of literacy for individuals, communities and societies, and the need for intensified efforts towards more literate societies.

Our School arranged many programme during the week such as Prabhat Pheri, Cycle Rally and special assemblies highlighting Importance of literacy

Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat

"Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" is a motto that translates to "One India, Best India." This initiative was launched by the Government of India to promote cultural exchange, interaction, and mutual understanding among the people of different states and union territories in the country. The aim is to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of India and foster a sense of unity and oneness among its citizens.

Our School also activity participated in this activity. On 3oth June 2023 our Students sang a Jharkand song creatively and also performed dance depicting the culture of the state and showing oneness with our brethren of Jharkhand state.

Kranti Din

The Goa revolution day  was celebrated in the school premises. Dr Ram Manohar Lohia and Dr Julião Menezes led the initiative to resist persecution by Portuguese rulers and fight for an independent Goa. This was shown through a beautiful skit. Wallpaper was prepared  on the theme 'Kranti Dis' by the students of Primary.

Rashtriya Eka Diwas

“Rashtriya Eka Diwas”(National Unity Day) was observed on 31st October 2023 in St. Sebastian’s High School, Loliem, Canacona, Goa to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sadar Vallabhai Patel in order to foster and  reinforce the dedication, to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of the nation.

On the occasion of said “Rastriya Eka Diwas” our school commenced the celebration with the pledge taking ceremony.

Swachchta Pakhwada

With an aim to achieve the Prime Minister’s goal on Clean India under the Swachbharat Mission, the students and teachers of St. Sebastian’s High School, Loliem observed Swachhata Pakhwada from September 1st  to 15th September 2023.

Each day assemblies were based on different topics such as Swachhata Shapath Day, Swachhata Awareness Day, Community Outreach Days, Green School Drive Day, Swachhata Participation Day, Hand Wash Day, Personal Hygiene Day, Swachhata School Exhibition Day, etc. 

Many activities were conducted during these 15 days and the winners were awarded with prizes on the last day.

Republic Day

Republic Day is a significant national event that reflects India's commitment to democracy, unity in diversity, and the principles laid out in its constitution. It is a day to celebrate the nation's sovereignty, secularism, and the rights and duties of its citizens.
