Spiritual Activities

Year (2023-24)

Spiritual school activities are designed to foster the spiritual and moral development of students, providing opportunities for reflection, self-discovery, and the exploration of values.

New Begining

The New academic year 2023-24 begins on 5th June 2023 with a short prayer service. 

Sr. Jenifer Fernandes took over the charge as a new Headmistress of the school after the retirement of Sr. Tressilla Pinto. Manager of the school Sr. Biana Fernandes welcomed Sr. Jenifer Fernandes on this occasion.

Feast of St. John the Baptist

On 24th June 2023, Feast of St. John the Baptist was celebrated with much joy in our school. Morning assembly was conducted by the primary students and students of Std VII presented a joke. Classwise Kopel making competition was organized and prizes were awarded for the same. Water games were conducted for the students of primary as well as high school.

The feast of St.Therese of Lisieux and the World Elders Day

The feast of St.Therese of Lisieux and the World Elders Day was celebrated in our school on 30th September 2023 with great enthusiasm by the primary students. The day began with the festal mass celebrated by Fr. Vijit Mathias, the Assist. Parish Priest who called upon the students to become little flowers in the school garden and to imitate the simple ways of St. Therese which was followed by a short cultural programme. The programme commenced with a meaningful prayer service followed by the  introduction and welcoming of the guests; Sr. Xaverina Rebello, the Superior of Assumption Convent, Karwar and Mrs. Clara Mathilda Veigas, the Ex – Teacher of St. Sebastian’s School.

Diwali -The Festival of Light

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in India and among Hindus worldwide. The name "Diwali" is derived from the Sanskrit word "Deepavali," meaning a row of lights. It is a festival of lights, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

On 23rd October we have celebrated it in a short assembly starting with Prayer service and by telling its importance to the students.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a Hindu festival celebrated to honor Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity who is revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences, and the god of wisdom. It is celebrated in the school on 16th September.

Celebration of the Feast of St. Sebastian

On 20th January 2024 the feast of St. Sebastian, the patron saint of the School was celebrated in the school with special assembly depicting the life of St. Sebastian through skit.

Christmas Celebration

Confessions

Confessions were held in the school twice a year for the catholic students. Monthly Eucharistic celebration for the students was organised. Rev. Fr. Sydney Dias and Rev. Fr. Vijith Mathias assisted the students in their spiritual needs

Christmas celebration was held on 23rd December 2023. Students prepared stars and cards which were displayed around the school building. The celebrations included Christmas Carols, Christmas Tableau and Christmas medley dance. Students were given glimpses from the life of Jesus and his teachings were enumerated by the student speakers.
